Designing Connection & Cultivating Creative Belonging
Hi, I'm Ella - the heart behind Seismic House. I believe that through creativity, we can rebuild communities and my mission is to bring creative ideas to life by sharing visual stories and inspiring the artist inside every person.
I hold my BFA and certificate in Design from UC Berkeley and have since worked as a public artist, designer, and educator to deliver creative community building experiences to large corporate companies and groups across the Bay Area. My background in set design and scenic painting have strengthened my passion for large scale works and experiential design, leading to exciting public arts projects.
Behind the Name
Seismic House comes from my place as someone who grew up in San Francisco with housing instability. This experience led me to find home and connection through public art and artists.
Throughout time, San Francisco has proven to overcome and rebuild through creativity. Seismic House represents the idea that regardless of where someone is at in life or business, creativity is a tool to rebuild our environments and create the feeling of home through artistic connection.
Seismic House works to restore belonging within your teams, with your audiences, and in your spaces through brand identity and graphic design, educational workshops, events support, and creative consultations.
Purpose through Public Art & Project Management
Through my experiences with housing instability in San Francisco, public art became a beacon and source of inspiration growing up. This ultimately inspired my own work as a public artist. From large scale billboard installations to non profit project management, I pride myself on working with my communities and bringing art to the world to keep the Bay Area colorful and creative.
I began crafting community centered graphics as an illustrator for UC Berkeley's College of Engineering and Division of Equity and Inclusion. While at UC Berkeley, I also taught a student run course in Brand Identity and Graphic Design. Since then, I have worked in non profit creative education as a Project Manager to run existing programs and to create new education and professional training initiatives, bringing my skills for brand design, education design, and visual communication into every project.
